Cynthia Erivo Expresses Desire to Play Storm in X-Men
Cynthia Erivo, known for her powerhouse performances on Broadway and in film, has revealed her dream of joining the Marvel universe as Storm, one of the most iconic characters in the X-Men franchise.
The multi-talented actress, who recently garnered acclaim for her portrayal of Elphaba in Wicked, shared her aspirations during a National Board of Review event on January 8, 2025. When asked about a dream role she is manifesting, Cynthia responded without hesitation: “I really want to play Storm.”
Explaining her reasoning, Cynthia expressed a desire to explore the character’s depth:
“I know it sounds frivolous, but I think we haven’t uncovered how grand she is, and all of that inner turmoil that she has. I think there’s a world in which we could do something like that.”

With Disney acquiring the rights to X-Men in 2019, fans have eagerly awaited news about the beloved mutants’ integration into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
